How frequently do trains run? Do i have to stick to my itinerary?

In most rail tour packages, there is a specific itinerary we book tickets and seat reservations for. The times of this itinerary will be shown in the travel documents, and due to seat reservations it is not possible to take an earlier or later train. 

However, in some days of some rail tours you are free to chose which trains you take, as some trains run frequently and have no seat reservations. If this is the case it will be explicitly mentioned in your travel documents.
