How much luggage can I take on my Rail Tour?
- There is no strict limit on how much luggage you can take onto European trains, but please be aware that you will have to load and unload the luggage onto the train yourself.
- European trains have ample luggage space but no dedicated luggage car or staff to help with your luggage.
- Our Rail Tours are booked with hotels conveniently close to train stations, but do still keep in mind that you might have to make transfers a few times per day, and walking distances to hotels can be up to 10 minutes. So please take only the amount of luggage that you are comfortable walking short distances with.
- During day trips, some train stations offer the oppertunity to store luggage. Please see: luggage storage at train stations.
- If your train leaves after the official check-out time of your hotel, or if you arrive before check-in, all hotels that we offer have the oppertunitiy to store your luggage at the reception or in a dedicated luggage room.
Some high-speed trains as included in our Rail Tour packages have a limit of one piece of hand luggage plus two large suitcases, but this is generally more than we would advise to take with you on a Rail Tour.
