The route I've booked has changed

It may happen that your route has changed after having booked the ticket, doe example due to construction works or last-minute timetable changes.

With some operators you can get on the next train without any problems. You can find out a new route via the website or app of the operator, or by asking onboard staff or station staff. This applies to:
  • Deutsche Bahn tickets;
  • NS tickets;
  • ÖBB tickets (sleeper trains excluded);
  • VY tickets (Norway);
  • TIckets through Denmark (sleeper trains excluded)
  • Swiss regional and IC trains (except scenic trains with reserved seats)
  • Regional trains in most countries (including France TER trains, Italian R, REG, or RV trains)
With other carriers, you can't get on the next train without consultation. In this case, you must go to the ticket office at the station to have a reservation made for the next available train. This is the case for:
  • Eurostar;
  • Italo (Italy);
  • Sleeper trains;
  • Scenic trains
  • Renfe (Spain);
  • TGV (France);
  • Trenitalia
